About the role
Whether you're coaching on the pitch, running dance workshops, have a love of music, enjoy capturing stories through a lens, or showing off your skills on the climbing wall, your talents could open a world of possibilities for young people.
As a key part of our delivery team, you'll be at the heart of the action, supporting the Team Leaders across all sessions to ensure the offer runs smoothly for Young People.
We are specifically looking for Youth Workers who are qualified to deliver in one of our specialist areas:
– Gym
– Rock Climbing
– Boxing Ring
– Martial Arts
– Pottery and ceramics
Key responsibilities include:
* Be part of an inclusive, engaging, and up-to-date youth work team that delivers a programme of activities that are safe, inclusive and meet the needs of young people bringing fresh ideas and skills to the current offer.
* To motivate, encourage and support young people to try activities and participate fully in sessions.
* You will support with the delivery of a dynamic programme of activities across the Arts, Sports Recreational or Holiday Club offer (including SEND), ensuring young people enjoy a diverse, high-quality range of activities that inspire growth and development.
* Ensure young people's voices are championed and advocated for within the Youth Zone, ensuring all services provide a great experience.
* As part of the delivery team, ensure the Youth Zone meets key performance indicators (KPIs) including attendance targets and outcomes for funded projects.
You will have experience of:
* Some experience working with young people in a supportive or developmental role. While direct experience with SEND isn't required, a willingness to support young people with additional needs is welcomed.
* Understanding the principles of working with children and young people.
* Awareness of basic safeguarding and H&S principles, ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people. Training will be provided in all related referral processes.
* If you have any experience supporting positive behaviour or helping manage conflict between young people this would be advantageous, however it's not essential as training will be provided.
