Role Overview
We are currently seeking a full-time Care Assistant to join our growing team. This is an on-site role based in Reading, with travel required across Berkshire. As a Care Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting clients with daily living activities, offering both physical and emotional care. No previous experience is required – full training is provided for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide personal care including assistance with bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Support with mobility and transfers, following manual handling best practices
• Offer companionship and emotional support to promote wellbeing
• Administer or remind clients to take medication as directed
• Assist clients with daily routines and encourage independence
• Deliver care tailored to individual needs and preferences
• Travel between clients across Berkshire (mileage reimbursed)
Essential Requirements
• A valid UK driving licence
• Access to your own car for travel between client visits
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexibly and independently
• Willingness to complete full training and ongoing professional development
Desirable (but not essential)
• Previous experience in a care, support, or customer-facing role
• Certification in Health & Social Care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or above)
• Knowledge of safeguarding and infection control
