Deputy Manager (Logistic Support Services) – Merville Barracks, Colchester, Essex
We are seeking a Deputy Manager (Logistic Support Services) to oversee and manage all operations within our Logistic Support Unit at Merville Barracks, ensuring high standards of service delivery, safety, and client satisfaction. This role is ideal for ex-forces applicants or those familiar with military base operations.
Salary: GBP28,800 – GBP30,800 per annum. Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM). Interviews: October 9 and 14, 2025.

Core Responsibilities
* Leadership and Management: Lead and develop the Logistics team, manage performance and HR processes (e.g., PDRs, recruitment, absence) using Kronos, and deputize for the Logistic Services Manager.
* Service Delivery: Ensure all services meet SLA standards and KPIs using FM Client and MOD IT systems. Act as SME for FM Client accounting systems (Planet, PFI, Kronos).
* Safety and Compliance: Act as the primary lead for Health and Safety in building D11, ensuring compliance with policies, legislation, and MOD site rules (Zero Harm culture).
* Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, MOD partners, and DIO, promoting the Clients for Life approach.
* Financials: Manage budgets, stock/cash controls, and contribute to achieving site gross margin targets.
Essential Requirements
* Proven management experience in logistics, supply management, or warehouse distribution.
* Strong leadership and people management skills (including HR processes).
* Knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare management.
* Excellent numerical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
