Risk & Compliance Manager Location: Nottingham (Multi-site law firm)

An established and growing multi-site law firm is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to join its Nottingham-based leadership team. This is a key role responsible for safeguarding the firm’s regulatory standing and embedding a strong culture of risk awareness and compliance across all offices.
The Role Reporting to senior management, you will take ownership of the firm’s risk and compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory and professional standards. You will act as a trusted advisor to partners and colleagues, providing clear, pragmatic guidance in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Acting as, or supporting, the COLP and COFA functions
2. Managing compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, AML, GDPR, and professional indemnity requirements
3. Developing, implementing, and reviewing firm-wide policies and procedures
4. Overseeing AML processes, including audits, risk assessments, and training
5. Handling regulatory queries, complaints, and reportable breaches
6. Conducting internal audits and risk assessments across multiple sites
7. Delivering compliance training to partners and staff
8. Monitoring regulatory developments and advising on their impact
About You You will be an experienced risk and compliance professional with a strong understanding of the legal sector and its regulatory environment.
You will ideally have:
9. Proven experience in a Risk & Compliance role within a law firm
10. In-depth knowledge of SRA regulations, AML, and data protection
11. Experience working across multi-site or growing organisations
12. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise at partner level
13. A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
14. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
