Job overview
The Quality Audit Analyst will report to the Compliance and Quality Assurance Audit Team Manager and support the delivery of independent assurance to Barts Health leadership that Soft FM cleaning services meet the requirements of the NHS National Standards of Cleanliness 2025 (NSOC).
The role forms part of the newly established Compliance and Quality Assurance Audit Team (CQAAT), responsible for delivering structured technical and efficacy audits of cleanliness standards across the Trust. Working to defined audit schedules, the post holder will undertake detailed inspections and assessments to confirm compliance with national standards and Trust policies.
Operating on a mobile, Trust-wide basis, CQAAT auditors will work across all hospitals and satellite sites, covering clinical areas, departments and circulation spaces across a 24-hour, seven-day service environment. Audits will be completed using the Trust’s Synbiotix digital monitoring tools to provide accurate, real-time evaluation of cleanliness performance.
The role will work closely with cleaning management teams, operational staff, clinical teams, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) leads, and estates colleagues to support a culture of high standards, transparency and continuous improvement.
Through robust auditing, reporting and engagement, the post holder will help ensure that cleanliness, environmental safety and governance standards are consistently delivered in line with Trust SOPs, SLAs and KPIs, supporting the principle of “getting it right first time” for patients, staff and visitors.
Main duties of the job
Support the Compliance and Quality Assurance Audit Team (CQAAT) Manager to ensure NSOC 2025 technical and efficacy cleanliness audits are effectively scheduled, completed and reported in line with Trust IPC and Cleanliness policies. Work with the Soft FM Digital Systems team and system suppliers to produce, analyse and communicate audit results using the Trust’s Synbiotix platform, supporting operational teams to interpret data and implement sustainable improvement actions.
Maintain the accuracy of audit templates, location risk categories and system data within the Trust’s agile audit platform. Deliver training and guidance to cleaning management, operational teams, clinical colleagues and IPC leads on the effective use of audit tools and monitoring processes.
Collaborate with service delivery, clinical and estates teams to identify, escalate and resolve cleanliness performance risks, ensuring compliance with SOPs, SLAs, KPIs and CQC regulatory requirements. Support the delivery of the Trust’s Cleanliness Quality Plan and promote consistent environmental standards across all sites.
Work flexibly across the Trust estate to deliver planned and ad-hoc audits, ensuring robust monitoring of cleanliness performance.
