Post-doctoral Teaching Fellow - MSc in Clinical Embryology and the MSc in Reproductive Genetics

Are you passionate about reproductive science and genetics? Join us as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow, where you will support two exciting MSc programmes: Clinical Embryology and Reproductive Genetics. These residential courses run over eleven months, with two terms of scheduled teaching and one term dedicated to hands-on laboratory or computer-based research.


In the MSc in Clinical Embryology, now entering its 18th year, you will engage with topics like infertility and assisted reproductive technology, providing practical training in scientific and embryological techniques such as gamete micromanipulation and embryo biopsy. Meanwhile, the new MSc in Reproductive Genetics focuses on reproductive genetics, infertility, birth defects, and global access to reproductive technology. This course emphasizes preimplantation genetic testing, molecular sequencing, and bioinformatics.

You should hold a PhD or DPhil in reproductive or developmental biology, assisted reproduction, or reproductive genetics, along with post-doctoral teaching and research experience. You need to have knowledge and hands-on experience with laboratory techniques used in assisted reproductive technology, reproductive genetics, pre-implantation genetic testing, bioinformatics, and molecular sequencing. Significant teaching experience in higher education is essential, including delivering lectures, tutorials, small groups, and wet-laboratory sessions. You should have a strong publication record and be familiar with current research and literature in clinical embryology and reproductive genetics. The role requires the ability to manage, motivate, and inspire students, as well as experience in student welfare and pastoral care. Excellent communication, presentation, and scientific writing skills are important, along with experience in assessing, grading, and providing feedback on written assignments.
