The post of Deputy Care Team Leader is a key position in leading and coordinating behaviour, attendance and safeguarding systems on site. You will be working closely with students, parents, staff and outside agencies on a daily basis and must be able to form excellent, trusting relationships with our SEMH students and their families. The role involves supporting the day‑to‑day leadership of pastoral wellbeing, supporting student behaviour and modelling expert practice for the staff team. Unconditional Positive Regard is at the centre of everything we do and the successful candidate must have the personal qualities and resilience to work in, and lead others in, this ethos. A key focus will be supporting the wellbeing and emotional development of key groups of young people.

This role involves deputising for Care Team Leaders across the site and is part of our succession planning strategy, making it well suited to an aspiring CTL. You will lead interventions with key groups of students and support the overall strategy planning of pastoral support in key areas of the school. Applicants should be passionate about developing their own leadership skills, as this is an excellent developmental opportunity for anyone interested in pastoral leadership at a senior level in the future. There will be regular, high quality training opportunities for you to develop your own expertise and shape key areas of interest such as working with CLA students, safeguarding, Positive Regard and restorative culture.
