Job summary
Wewould welcome applications from an enthusiastic Fellowship trained OrthopaedicSurgeon with a specialist interest in Foot & Ankle surgery. The applicantwill join a
dynamicdepartment of 17 Full time orthopaedic surgeons working across all 3 sites atMid Yorkshire NHS Trust.
Thepost will involve delivering complex hindfoot and midfoot reconstructionsurgery, and improving the provision for MDT Diabetic / Rheumatoid management. The successful candidate will contribute tocentrally delivered trauma surgery at Pinderfields Hospital.
Thepost will continue to develop the Foot & Ankle unit, which is supported by SpecialistPhysiotherapist and Advanced Nurse practitioners. An interest in innovative MDTworking, improving unit research output and education will be encouraged.

The post holder will work as part of the Orthopaedic team toprovide a comprehensive service including general Orthopaedic trauma and willprovide continuing clinical responsibility for patients under his/her care.
There will be a 1:16 on-call commitment, therefore it isessential to demonstrate active commitment to the management of trauma.
The post is for a subspecialty interest in Foot and AnkleSurgery, therefore it is essential to evidence fellowship level training.
Urgent and Emergency Care duties including out-of-hourson-call; schedules will take due account of the provisions of working timeregulations and safe working
Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with theTrust Framework, with at least aminimum of SPAs included in the core 10 PA timetable. Additional SPA or DCCtime may be commissioned in line with the skills of the successful candidateand changing requirements of the service.

This post isoffered on a full time (10 PA) basis although less than full time applicationswill be considered. This post is for 12 months.
This postrepresents an exciting opportunity to join a group of dynamic ConsultantOrthopaedic Surgeons in providing a wide range of elective orthopaedic servicesand trauma services to the population of approximately 400,000 in the Wakefieldand Kirklees area of Yorkshire.
Duties willbe based primarily on our Trauma Unit (Pinderfields General Hospital,Wakefield) site and Elective Orthopaedic Surgical Hub (Pontefract GeneralInfirmary) - although all our medical staff are involved in delivering care topatients on all our sites.
