Jobs for Humanity is collaborating with Kier to build an inclusive and just employment ecosystem. We are looking for a Senior Planner to join the Southern Planning Team based in Southampton and cover the Southern region of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. The role is full‑time (40 hours per week) with some flexibility in hours. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
This role will involve:
* 50% of your allocation dedicated to the Baker Barracks project, which includes refurbishment and extensions of existing hangars, extension of mess facilities, construction of a new office administration building, and a new modular armoury store and weapon cleaning shelter.
* The remaining 50% of your allocation working across the Pre‑Construction and Construction Delivery Teams, providing planning expertise on multiple projects ranging from £5 M to £100 M+ at tender, PCSA and delivery stages.
* Production of fully integrated programmes incorporating all disciplines (design, commercial, construction) with appropriate risk and buffer allowances.
* Production and monitoring of tender event schedules (TES)/procurement schedules, site logistics, scaffold, temporary power and water requirements, and temporary work schedules.
* Development of information for tender settlements, including benchmarking and liaison with sub‑contractors, and attendance at regular site visits.
* Collation of progress and as‑built information, including outputs and forecasting programme scenarios, and communication of these to project teams.
Qualifications
* Construction planning experience within a main contractor environment, working on build tenders and live projects valued between £5 M and £100 M+.
* Proficiency in Asta Powerproject software and competency in Bluebeam (or similar) for take‑offs and logistical plans.
* Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contract conditions, with the ability to implement requirements in project programmes.
* Experience in developing claims and Construction Effectiveness documents.
