Higher Level Pharmacy Technician Dispensary

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated Pharmacy Technicians to join the Mersey Care Medicines Management Team. The Executive team at Mersey Care recognise the value of our services and have recently invested a significant amount of additional funding to enable the transformation and expansion of our service.

Dispensary Higher Level Pharmacy Technician roles are based within our purpose-built pharmacy department at Maghull Health Park and support our in-house Pharmacy at Hollins Park Hospital in Warrington.

We welcome applications from experienced Pharmacy Technicians from any sector who have an interest in developing their professional career within a hospital pharmacy setting.

These posts provide an opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a diverse service. We provide a well-structured support system, including robust individual and group supervision, personal development planning and regular access to professional development opportunities and flexible working opportunities.

As a department we are embracing the Trusts ambition to digitally transform our services and have introduced new initiatives which include ward-based automation, EPMA and, within our new department, three automated robotic dispensing systems including a blister packing robot.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and BTEC level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent qualification with appropriate underpinning knowledge
* Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
* Accredited Technical Accuracy Checking Qualification
* NVQ A1 workplace assessor (or willingness to work towards)
* Relevant medicines management qualification or accreditation, or willingness to work towards; or equivalent experience


KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE

* Ability to train others
* Experience of working within pharmaceutical services
* Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
* Demonstrable experience of dispensing & accuracy checking
* Experience of using electronic medicines management systems, including oversight of stock levels
* Clear understanding of relevant legislation and guidance
* Demonstrable evidence of commitment to self- development and CPD
* Experience of working on wards
* Experience of working within an NHS organisation
* Experience of supervising staff within a technical area of pharmacy services
