Sales Manager (Territory Manager) - Cleantech Energy Scaleup - Remote (Field Sales Role) - £75-90k OTE - Ref. No. 1280824
Series B Cleantech scale-up | Transform how heat is stored and used | Mission to tackle climate change, cut carbon emissions and help us live with clean energy.
Role summary: Remote, field-based position in the UK (North or South); 3+ days/week travel to meet clients and build new business.
Base salary: typically £60-65k DOE. OTE: £75k-£90k (70/30 split). Contract: Full-time, permanent.
Location: Remote, UK-based. Travel: 3+ days/week.
Responsibilities
* Originate and close new projects with housing associations, developers, NHS Trusts, universities, and retrofit programs.
* Identify and land lighthouse accounts that showcase the technology at scale.
* Run structured discovery and qualification (MEDDICC/Challenger/SPIN), selling business outcomes (compliance, cost savings, space optimization) rather than just product features.
* Establish project timelines, create urgency, and manage multiple stakeholders to contract signature.
* Travel 3+ days per week to meet customers, consultants, engineers, and decision-makers.
Success in the Role
First 6 Months
* Build a qualified pipeline of ~20 named accounts.
* Close your first new-logo project deal (~£50k+).
* Establish relationships with key housing associations or developers.
By End Of Year 1
* Deliver £400k-£500k in new project bookings.
* Secure 2-3 lighthouse accounts.
* Be recognised internally for pipeline discipline and sales process control.
Must-have experience
* Proven record of winning complex B2B deals with multiple stakeholders.
* Strong grasp of sales methodology and structured qualification.
* Demonstrated ability to create urgency and manage project milestones.
* Hunter mentality: proactive, resilient, comfortable qualifying out.
* Consultative, outcome-focused approach, able to engage exec sponsors and project stakeholders alike.
Backgrounds that would make you a strong fit
Experience in one or more of these will be highly valued:
* Renewables & energy transition hardware, heat pumps, PV/solar, battery storage, smart building tech.
* Construction & retrofit supply chain, selling into housing developers, contractors, or retrofit frameworks.
* Utilities & energy services, demand-side response, energy efficiency, grid services.
* Building technologies & controls, HVAC systems, building management systems, industrial hardware with long-cycle procurement.
* Other adjacent B2B hardware, where success depends on influencing specifiers, consultants, or institutional buyers.
