We’re looking for a part time Farm Worker to support our management of the historic White Park Cattle herd and management of the NNR/SSSI conservation grasslands. You’ll be joining an experienced countryside team based at Dinefwr in Llandeilo.
The White Park Cattle are an integral part of the history and significance of Dinefwr. The Farm Worker will be keen to engage with our visitors and extend people’s understanding of their role and significance.
Dinefwr is a key place for our goal of prioritising greater access to more people as part of ‘ending unequal access’.
You'll be part of the on-call rota to provide evening and weekend Farm Worker cover for Dinefwr in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.

What it's like to work here
Dinefwr Park is an 850 acre park covering parkland, woodlands, floodplains and grazing pasture and traditional hay meadows. Located in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire it is visited by over 100,000 people per year who come to enjoy the house, parkland, castle and to see the ancient White Park Cattle in their ancestral home.Working predominately out of Home Farm, Llandeilo, we manage a herd of around 50 breeding stock and followers who in turn to help manage the historical landscape grassland features of the parkland.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be joining a team of three Rangers/Farm Workers working in Dinefwr and management of the cattle and their day to day care will be at the heart of your role. You'll be hands-on supporting the Farm Manager to carry out welfare checks, calving, vaccinations, mucking out and bedding down. You will also link with the Area Ranger, Programming & Experience Manager, and the Garden and Outdoors Manager to discuss and implement our conservation grazing and hay meadow reversion projects and understand the calendar of visitors and site opening/events.You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. Who we're looking for

1. Experienced around livestock (horned cattle)
2. A keen interest in wildlife and / or nature conservation
3. A commitment to engage visitors and volunteers in our work
4. Awareness of health and safety and compliance in the ‘farmed’ environment
5. Experience of working in a farm or estate environment
6. Full, clean UK driving licence
7. Good communication skills

10. Understanding of health and safety and compliance in the ‘farmed’ environment
11. Estate maintenance and practical skills
12. Experience/qualifications to use ATVs
13. Full, clean UK driving licence
14. Some flexibility around hours, depending on the needs of the herd.
