Highly Specialist Team Band 7 Physiotherapist – Musculoskeletal Service
The role will involve assessing and managing patients in core physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Clinics, supporting the delivery of core MSK services with a special interest in Hand Therapy, liaising with the MSK Clinical Team Leads and the wider Hand Therapy multidisciplinary team in Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery. The post holder will also monitor staff development, training, mentorship and student provision.
Main duties of the job
* Extensive knowledge and experience working in the MSK environment.
* Highly developed clinical reasoning skills to implement an effective patient‑centred approach to care.
* Strong insight of evidence‑based practice and understanding its relevance in developing MSK pathways.
* Experience with leading and managing a team to provide high quality service.
* Experience in completing audits and/or service improvement projects.
* Confidence to work with other health care professionals in Physiotherapy and other stakeholders, including GPs and secondary/tertiary care consultants.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy (or other relevant qualification)
* Professional Registration with HCPC
* Evidence of post‑graduate master’s level education or equivalent clinical experience
Knowledge & Experience
* Substantial experience of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Supervision experience of students, physiotherapy assistants and junior staff.
* Experience in leadership and management.
* Ability to speak Welsh.
Service Development
* Involvement in audit, research and understanding quality issues.
Skills
* Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate.
* Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for the service, including experience of quality issues and audit.
