A well-established and highly regarded 11–18 secondary school in the Kenilworth area is seeking a passionate and reflective Teacher of English to join its successful department from January 2026.
This is a school with a strong academic ethos, excellent behaviour and a genuine commitment to literacy across the curriculum. English is a core strength, with consistently strong GCSE outcomes and a thriving Sixth Form provision where students engage confidently with both Literature and Language.
The Role
You will teach English across KS3–KS5, delivering a curriculum that balances academic rigour with creativity and accessibility. At KS3, the focus is on building strong reading habits, vocabulary and confidence in writing. You will be encouraged to:
* Teach engaging, discussion-rich lessons using shared schemes of learning
* Contribute to curriculum development and text selection
* Support enrichment such as reading groups, theatre trips or debating
* Work collaboratively within a stable, experienced English team
The School
The school is rated Good with many outstanding features and is known locally for its calm, purposeful learning environment. Behaviour systems are clear and consistently applied, allowing teachers to focus on teaching rather than behaviour management. Leadership is visible, supportive and actively seeks staff input when reviewing workload and policy.
Facilities include modern classrooms, a well-stocked library and a dedicated Sixth Form study centre that supports independent learning.
Why Join?
* A strong, supportive English department with shared planning
* Motivated, respectful students
* High-quality CPD and clear progression opportunities
* A professional culture where staff are valued and trusted
