This is an excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified Court of Protection Solicitor to join a growing team in Manchester, working on meaningful deputyship matters that genuinely improve clients’ lives. You’ll be part of a well-established and supportive team that works closely together on its cases, with work largely generated internally from a busy clinical negligence department. The role offers exposure to a broad range of property and financial affairs deputyship work, with the chance to manage your own caseload while supporting Deputies on higher-value matters. This is a team with outstanding retention, a collegiate culture, and a genuine commitment to developing people who want to build a long-term career in Court of Protection.
Who we’re looking for
* Newly Qualified Solicitor
* Prior experience in Court of Protection matters
* Experience of Property & Affairs deputyship work
* Confident in managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Personable, confident and able to deal sensitively with vulnerable clients
* A collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues
What you’ll be doing
* Managing the day-to-day property and financial affairs of clients who lack capacity
* Acting in clients’ best interests at all times when dealing with assets and finances
* Assisting Court of Protection Deputies on higher-value and more complex matters
* Maintaining accurate time recording and a clear audit trail on all files
* Managing your own caseload with increasing autonomy
* Working closely with families, carers and other professionals
* Contributing to a supportive, team-based approach to case management
