Salary: The salary is based on the clinical veterinary assistant professor scale. Depending on the individual and their duties, the salary may attract an additional non-consolidated clinical supplement of up to 20%.
Role and responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and delivery of year-5 clinical rotation teaching, and to the delivery and assessment of relevant subject teaching in the first 4 years of the course.
* Assist in further developing the School's programme of postgraduate training in clinical pathology.
* Collaborate with university pathologists, clinicians, and clinical associate practices to provide support and guidance for on-site labs where available, and engage with diagnostic anatomic pathology service for cytology-histopathology corelates.
* Engage in research collaboration with School activities and provide opportunities for investigations.
* Maintain professional registration and demonstrate diagnostic and communication skills developed in academic or diagnostic service settings.
Requirements
* Veterinary degree registrable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
* Postgraduate training in veterinary clinical pathology or equivalent experience.
* Experience in academic or commercial diagnostic service environments.
About the role and environment
The School operates a distributed clinical teaching model and does not have its own dedicated clinical pathology service laboratory; several clinical associate practices have onsite labs to support the role. Collaboration with the diagnostic anatomic pathology service is encouraged.
