Social Worker - Children and Families Hub, Colchester
Permanent, Part Time
Salary: £37,185 to £50,081 per annum (Full Time Equivalent). Actual Salary (22.2 hours/week): £22,311 to £30,048 per annum.
Location: Colchester
Working Style: Flexible, with hours on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Closing Date: 11th May 2025.
This role is within the Children and Families Hub, which serves as the single point of access for Children’s Social Care, aiming to provide early help, advice, and support to children, young people, and their families to promote safety, development, and wellbeing.
The role reports to a Senior Practitioner and involves working with a team of social workers and qualified staff. Responsibilities include delivering high standards of social work practice, advising professionals on safeguarding concerns, and conducting triage assessments to determine ongoing social care needs. The post requires adherence to legal frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
* Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
* Competence in current professional standards (e.g., PCF, KSS).
* Experience in case recording.
* Ability to apply social work knowledge with emotional intelligence and analytical skills in challenging situations.
* Proficiency with IT systems, including Word and social work case recording systems.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, including mobilization into emergency or contingency teams.
