Your Role
As a DT Teacher with a focus on Resistant Materials, you will:
* Teach engaging and creative lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, introducing them to a variety of materials and manufacturing techniques.
* Deliver practical projects that help students understand core principles in design, safety, sustainability, and product development.
* Use both traditional and digital tools (including CAD/CAM) to bring projects to life.
* Support classroom safety and help students build confidence using equipment in a safe and responsible way.
* Take part in curriculum planning and bring fresh ideas to lessons that encourage creativity and problem-solving.
* Get involved in extra-curricular opportunities such as DT clubs, competitions, or project days to extend learning beyond the classroom.
* This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated ECT who:
o Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is on track to achieve it by summer 2025.
o Has a degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field.
o Is passionate about Resistant Materials, practical learning, and student engagement.
o Brings energy, creativity, and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.
o Has strong communication skills and is keen to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
o Values inclusivity and is committed to helping all learners succeed.
