Prison Support Role (OSG)
£29,432 per annum.
HMP Berwyn – Welsh Speaking
His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.
As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy prison. You will be part of a supportive team doing all sorts of tasks – from security and searches at the gate, to managing deliveries, supervising visitors, and monitoring phone calls and CCTV. It’s a varied and active job involving tasks which combine some desk duties with more physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and walking to escort vehicles across the prison grounds.

Eligibility and Requirements
* Full, valid UK driving licence, including the D1 vehicle category (allows driving vehicles with no more than 16 passenger seats, maximum length 8 metres, trailer up to 750 kg).
* Welsh speaking essential – must be able to communicate confidently in Welsh.
* Good communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Team player with good judgement and common sense.
Shift Pattern
OSG work a variety of shifts, including weekend and night shifts. Shift start and finish times are fixed; applicants must be able to arrive on time.
