Job Description: Quality Compliance Engineer
In Summary
The Quality Compliance Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, performance and continuous improvement of Project and Operational Quality Management and Control. The role is split across two inherently linked processes to provide Quality assurance through our manufacturing supply partners, working with both suppliers and customers to ensure parts are suitable for process, conducting quality functions (8D, 5 Why analysis, completion of CARs) and Quality compliance through the ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 14001:2015 management systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Attend customer site visits for technical reviews and quality concerns.
* Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, 5 Why & Fishbone.
* Develop and maintain Supplier Performance Management system.
* Reporting against Quality KPIs (PPM Defect rates, Supplier performance).
* Drive supplier NCR process by reviewing root causes, appropriate corrective actions and ensure containment where required throughout supply chain.
* Support in the generation of Inspection reports for customers and further in process inspection at goods in.
* Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions across production batches.
* Support of any investigations arising from Quality issues through to their documented conclusion, with supporting root cause analysis and solutions to prevent re‑occurrence.
* Support customer or supplier Source Inspection or Delegate Product Review Verification activities.
* Facilitation of concession applications and engineering change requests.
* Plan and carry out a schedule of internal audits and assessments with completion of associated documentation and activities in accordance with the QMS & EMS.
* Support of external Quality audits, assessments and visits throughout the supply chain by customers and authorities where appropriate both national and internationally.
* Issue audit reports and follow-up actions and verify closure.
* Advise on all aspects of quality management, including risks and issues, process improvements and PDCA methodologies to develop and grow the companies Quality and Environmental management systems.
Skills and Qualifications
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001
* Lead/Internal Auditor in ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
* NCR generation and management.
* Proficient in quality methodology such as RCA, 5 WHY & Fishbone.
* HNC Minimum in engineering related field (preferably mechanical).
* Experience of “hands on” engineering roles to understand processes such as Fabrication, injection molding and Aluminium casting.
* Ability to read and understand Technical drawings including GD&T.
* Strong proficiency in inspection techniques, gaging, and test equipment.
* Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
