Employer: St Josephs School & Nursery. Hours: 40 hours per week. Salary: £7.55 per hour. Apprenticeship: Early Years Practitioner Level 2 (approximately 16 months).

What will my day look like?
St Josephs is a nursery attached to the main school, welcoming children aged 1 to 5 years. The nursery operates 51 weeks a year, from 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday) and is divided into Rainbow Room, Sunflower Room and Pre-Prep. Your daily tasks will include contributing to a programme of activities, recording children's learning and development journeys, and communicating with parents and carers. You will work as part of a supportive team, helping with the smooth running of the nursery and adhering to EYFS policies.
* Contributing to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of the children
* Recording children's learning and development journeys and communicating these with parents, carers, and other key adults
* Engaging in effective teamwork
* Liaising with and supporting parents, carers, and other family members
* Participating in high-quality care and supervision of all children
* Attending activities outside standard hours (e.g., staff meetings, training, events)
* Being flexible and prepared to help where needed (including domestic tasks such as preparing meals and cleaning toys)
* Following the nursery ethos to create a warm and friendly environment
* Working alongside the nursery manager and staff team
* Ensuring EYFS is promoted and policies are followed
* Providing excellent customer service
* Supporting the smooth running of the nursery
* Reading, understanding and adhering to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed by the nursery manager
* Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training
How does the Apprenticeship Work?
Working towards your Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Qualification, you will attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via Teams; no classroom or college attendance) with your tutor. Modules include child development from birth to 7 years, safeguarding, promoting wellbeing, supporting activities, purposeful play and educational programmes, and more. You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. All apprenticeship work and training are completed in the workplace during working hours.

* Minimum GCSE grade 4/C in Maths & English (or equivalent)
* UK Residency: must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
