Catholic Science Teacher
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and faith-centred Catholic secondary school to recruit a Science Teacher to start as soon as possible. This exciting temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for a passionate Science graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced Science Teacher with knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, or Physics who is keen to inspire students, nurture a love of learning, and support academic achievement within a values-driven Catholic school community.
This position is offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis, providing an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to demonstrate their skills and become a valued member of the school community. The role will initially be through Milk Education, with the potential to secure a permanent contract directly with the school following a successful placement period.
This role is open to both recent Science graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience and experienced teachers seeking their next opportunity within secondary education. The Role as a Science Teacher:
As a Science Teacher, you will work with students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and informative lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific understanding. You will support students in developing their knowledge and practical skills while fostering respect, compassion, and a commitment to achieving their full potential.
Key Responsibilities as a Science Teacher:
• Deliver engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics
• Support students in developing confidence, scientific knowledge, and practical skills
• Prepare pupils for assessments, examinations, and GCSE Science qualifications
• Adapt lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs
• Encourage participation, positive behaviour, and a love of learning
• Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Build positive relationships to motivate and inspire learners
• Support and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school community
The Ideal Candidate as a Science Teacher:
• A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Science
• Experience teaching or working with secondary-aged students is desirable
• Open to both recent graduates and experienced teachers
• Confident, adaptable, and engaging communication style
• Passion for education and supporting young people
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Respect for and willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
