Reports to: Project Director, PT&D
As a Construction Director, you will have the skills and competence to:
* Influence, create, and articulate strategy through to implementation.
* Hold overall accountability for construction of substation projects, ensuring constructability at all stages (design/development to commissioning).
* Provide management, leadership, and inspire a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals.
* Determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project/portfolio requirements, objectives, and constraints: time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits.

What you'll be doing
* Report on pre-construction and construction performance and benefits realization.
* Assess project construction suitability at all stages, aligning with business and stakeholder objectives.
* Supervise all involved teams to provide feedback and resolve complex problems.
* Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & stay updated with legislative changes.
* Manage the structure, focus, and discipline of the Construction Team.
* Maintain resource levels for successful program delivery.
* Ensure procurement plans align with overall project timelines.
* Escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
* Monitor KPIs and project performance.
* Enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
* Maximize planning & project control tools for realistic baselines.
* Own budget, cost control, and recovery, setting targets accordingly.
* Support digital data reliability for successful project delivery.
Who we're looking for
* Proven track record managing large teams, especially in major healthcare projects.
* Experience in innovation across fields like Health and Safety, Operational Delivery, etc.
* Experience in recruitment and talent development, including mentoring and creating development plans.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with formal qualifications (e.g., ILM).
* Independent judgment and a proven track record.
* Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, IHT, CMI) and ongoing professional development.
* Acceptance of role responsibilities and proactive in personal performance enhancement.
* Experience in delivering lean construction techniques.
