Vacancy Description
We are seeking to employ and train a Fabricator Technicians through a Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
As a Fabricator Technician Apprentice, you will develop the skills required to manufacture and assemble metal components and structures to exact specifications. You will work with a variety of materials and fabrication techniques, ensuring all work meets Ishida’s high standards of quality, safety, and precision.
The training and development you receive will give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to:
1. Read and interpret engineering drawings
2. Cut, form, and shape metal components
3. Carry out welding and joining processes
4. Assemble fabricated parts into finished products
5. Inspect and measure components for quality
6. Follow safe working practices at all times
This will involve:
7. In year 1, you will spend a minimum of 16 weeks at Make UK and the remaining time will be spent at Ishida further developing you’ll skills knowledge and abilities.
8. In years 2 – 4, You will rotate through key fabrication and production areas, gaining experience in different techniques, materials, and product types.
9. Aligned to the apprentice programme there will be an Ishida development pathway to start your career in the manufacturing industry.
10. Each apprentice will have a dedicated work mentor with planned regular reviews to support their progression.
11. The range of tasks will include metal fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, welding, assembly, inspection, and rework or modification to engineering drawings and tolerances.
12. The working environment is characterised by teamwork, emphasising collaboration, engagement, and constructive challenges, where individuals can showcase their skills and abilities to make a meaningful impact.
Working week - Monday - Friday: 7:00 – 15:00 / Total hours per week: 37.50
Course Duration - 42 months (excluding EPA assessment)

13. The apprenticeship programme lays the foundations of Manufacturing expertise using the qualifications gained using maths and science principles gained at GCSE or equivalents
14. To be considered, you will a minimum of 4 GCSE at grade C/4 or equivalent, including mathematics, English and science.
