The postholder will be an active member of the research team assisting in the development and pre-clinical and industrial translation of novel drug delivery systems. You will assist in the planning and delivery of this research activity so that the overall research objectives of the project are met. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: Applicants must have a degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related discipline (Minimum standard 2.1) Have, or about to obtain*, a PhD in drug delivery/pharmaceutics/ engineering (*must be obtained within 3 months of commencement of employment) Substantial relevant research experience to include: Experience of design and manufacture of drug delivery systems or medical devices Experience in the characterisation of polymeric drug delivery systems (including thermal analysis, XRD, FTIR, SEM, etc.) Knowledge of emerging technologies in pharmaceutical manufacturing (e.g. electrospinning, 3D printing, and others) A record of publication in high quality, peer-reviewed, journals commensurate with experience To be successful at shortlisting stage, please ensure you clearly evidence in your application how you meet the essential and, where applicable, desirable criteria listed in the Candidate Information document on our website.
