Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist - Bath & North East Somerset Council
Job Overview – Join the dynamic Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy Team. Provide specialist support for complex caseloads, housing adaptations, and multi‑disciplinary service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry a complex caseload including major adaptations under Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs), moving and handling and postural assessments.
* Advise and support Occupational Therapists with complex casework.
* Lead OT peer supervision groups.
* Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to promote functional independence, wellbeing, and inclusive practice.
* Work with OT team managers to share clinical expertise.
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Registered with the HCPC, with extensive post‑qualification experience in adult social care.
* Substantial experience in housing adaptations (DFG processes, major structural changes).
* Expert knowledge of moving and handling principles, risk assessment, and advisory practice.
* Expertise in postural management and seating solutions for complex physical needs.
* In‑depth knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Housing, Moving and Handling).
* Strong commitment to person‑centred, strengths‑based approaches.
* Skills in mentoring, clinical supervision, and evidence‑informed practice.
* Excellent communication, decision‑making, and partnership working abilities.
* Valid car driving licence.
