Job Summary
Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to make a real difference in patient care? We are looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses who bring clinical confidence, warmth, and professionalism. You will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing care, administering medication, supervising support staff and students, and helping to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centered care that supports dignity, safety and comfort.

* NMC registration and a relevant nursing qualification
* Recent experience in a healthcare setting
* Strong communication, organisational and team-working skills
* Confidence, calmness and compassion under pressure
* Willingness to work flexibly across a 24/7 rota (nights, weekends, bank holidays)
Responsibilities
* Contribute to, support and promote ECCHs strategic direction, values and culture
* Discuss treatment options with patients, act as patient advocate, uphold confidentiality and respect diverse backgrounds
* Manage patient admissions, involve clinical experts, coordinate discharge planning
* Act as a resource for other health and social care professionals on nursing matters
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical supervision
* Lead the service in the absence of a Sister/Charge Nurse; ensure a safe environment
* Provide complex information to patients and other agencies to aid decision-making
* Contribute to clinical governance, risk assessment and clinical audits
* Support development of care pathways and evidence-based, cost-effective care
* Promote self-care and independence through health coaching
* Maintain legible, accurate records in line with ECCH policy and NMC standards
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental Waste Regulations
* Be a proactive team player who respects staff and resources and supports learning
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
* Essential: Enthusiastic, goal-directed care; ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing needs; good clinical governance knowledge; ability to prioritise and delegate
* Phlebotomy, cannulation, intravenous therapy / blood transfusions
* Proficient in SystmOne record keeping (or willingness to learn)
Qualifications
* Essential: Nursing qualification leading to NMC registration
* Desirable: Mentorship/teaching and Assessing Course or equivalent; further study opportunities

* Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Flexible to working hours/locations; capable of travel between sites
