Overview
At Asda Opticians, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our customers by delivering high‑quality patient care and service. A typical day involves completing eye examinations, contact‑lens and extended‑service examinations, supporting our Dispensing Optician Manager with training, coaching and maintaining all departmental standards.
Under extended‑service contracts with the NHS, we provide a full range of eye‑care services, supporting employees in gaining additional accreditations required to deliver these services.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform eye examinations, contact‑lens and extended‑service examinations.
* Work with the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues through training and coaching.
* Maintain departmental standards and ensure compliance with NHS service contracts.
* Support the development of new patient services and contribute to shaping the department culture.
* Provide excellent customer care and a memorable patient experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
* Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us).
* On track to meet statutory CPD points requirement.
* Registered with Right to Work in the UK and NHS performer list; ability to provide 2 clinical references.
