The school caters for pupils with a variety of complex needs, including PMLD, SEMH, and significant developmental delays. The role involves working with children across both Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11). Pupils in KS1 are working at an early developmental stage similar to nursery level, so a nurturing, play-based approach to learning is essential. In KS2, pupils take part in a more practical and hands-on curriculum, with some children requiring additional support with emotional regulation.Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong, trusting relationships with pupils who depend heavily on adult guidance and encouragement will be key to success in this role.
