Offer description

Overview

JFS is one of the highest-performing schools in the country and one of the largest. We are looking for kind members of staff with the determination of relentless organisation and follow-through to ensure that no child slips through the net. JFS is a high-achieving, inclusive school serving a community invested in its outcomes. With nearly 2,000 pupils, 62% of all GCSE grades were 7 or above and 64% of A-level grades were A*-A or above. The school recovered from being in ‘Special Measures’ in September 2021 and was rated ‘Good’ by OfSTED in April 2022. The rapid turnaround reflects the dedication of our staff and our ongoing pursuit of improvement. OfSTED is a point of assessment; our day-to-day journey is what matters to us at JFS.

Responsibilities

As a counsellor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support of our students who are most in need of help. You will work collaboratively with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officers. You will contribute to a school-wide approach to pastoral care, ensuring high-quality support and effective safeguarding practices so that no student is left unsupported.

Qualifications and attributes

* Qualified counsellor with relevant professional credentials.
* Good communicator with empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
* Ability to work collaboratively with safeguarding and wellbeing teams.

We believe JFS is an excellent place to work and develop. If you have any questions, please contact david.moody@Jfs.brent.sch.uk. We are happy to organise a visit or answer questions. Other information

JFS shall reserve the right to shortlist candidates and interview prior to the closing date. Any unsolicited CVs sent by any agency for candidates not directly engaged by us in writing will be considered a "free gift" with no agency fees if we choose to contact the candidate. Please note, it is not part of JFS' recruitment process to provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants at the application stage.
