As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. You would apply your skills and experience to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams. What You Will Do: Engagement: Deputise in the absence of the ME/PE Mgr in support of GEMBA initiatives. Act as a focal point for the Manufacturing Engineering team to flex the resources to overcome assigned tasks. Coach, review and guide the work of other manufacturing engineering professionals. Manufacturing: Provide long-term strategic support to positively impact on operational results. Innovate & implement manufacturing techniques/tooling to enhance throughput, RFT performance and improve product quality/safety. Problem Solving: Utilise real time problem resolution, root cause analysis and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 whys, RCCA, fishbone diagram) to resolve complex manufacturing issues effectively. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work adheres to approved data, manufacturing standards, and customer specifications, maintaining meticulous documentation. Support training across Operations and drive accountability of competency reports. Perform regular layered audits to validate compliance requirements. Collaboration: Communicates with parties both internally and externally of own department. Works to influence cross-functional parties regarding policies, practices and procedures. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production Engineering and Quality teams to optimise manufacturing performance. Continuous Improvement: Manage moderate to complex projects or processes aimed at driving efficiency activities. Document activities in accordance with the C.O.R.E system. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES City and guilds qualifications or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in assembly manufacturing environment. Experience in a variety of manufacturing techniques; mechanical assembly, machining, fabrication, paint and/or seat assembly. Prior experience in a low batch/high mix manufacturing environment – aerospace or similar industry preferred. Previous experience in Quality Inspection and/or Product Data Management ideal. Familiarity with shopfloor environments.
