Future Teachers Programme (SCITT) – Core Subject Graduates Wanted

Teaching Personnel Liverpool is proud to be working in partnership with a high-performing mainstream secondary school in North Liverpool to recruit the next generation of exceptional teachers through our highly successful Future Teachers Programme (SCITT Pathway). We are seeking ambitious, motivated, and passionate graduates who are eager to begin a rewarding career in teaching from September 2026.

This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers ready to take their first steps into education, gain paid classroom experience, and progress into a fully qualified teacher training route within a supportive and nurturing school environment.

About the Future Teachers Programme (SCITT Pathway)

Our Future Teachers Programme is designed to support graduates who aspire to become teachers but wish to gain hands-on experience before committing to Initial Teacher Training. Over the course of the academic year, you will work in a structured, developmental role within the school before progressing onto the School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme on-site.

This provides a seamless transition from support role → trainee teacher → qualified teacher (QTS).

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from graduates (or final-year students) specialising in core subjects, including:

English
Mathematics
Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

✅ A genuine interest in teaching young people
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Resilience, patience, and a positive mindset
✅ A willingness to learn, reflect, and grow professionally
✅ Previous experience working with young people (desirable, not essential)

Role Responsibilities

As a Future Teacher, you will take on a diverse range of duties, gradually building your confidence and teaching skills over time. Your role may include:

Supporting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons
Leading small-group interventions in your subject area
Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support
Covering lessons under supervision when required
Working 1:1 with pupils who require additional guidance
Participating in CPD sessions and school training
Observing experienced teachers across departments
Preparing resources, assessments, and learning materials
Taking part in extracurricular clubs, events, or mentoring programmes
This structured experience ensures you are well-prepared to begin your SCITT teacher training with confidence.

Application Requirements

To be eligible, you must:

Hold (or be predicted) a 2:2 degree or above
Have a strong interest in teaching as a long-term career
Be available full-time from September 2026
Maintain a valid DBS certificate (or be willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
