Broster Buchanan are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a growing Birmingham based organisation who are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant, on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with UK financial regulations and standards and running the month end close process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS (within 5 working days of month end).
* Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts. Maintain Floqast (month end close management portal).
* Ensure the accuracy of all financial reporting and that company cashflow is being managed efficiently and effectively.
* Review and support on payroll submissions and pension submission completion.
* Complete variance analysis against budget/forecast and prior year.
* Support the Year End Audit, ensuring all data and monthly processes have been undertaken to ensure the audit is completed to time, with minimal disruption to the business and with as few exceptions/queries raised as possible.
* Ensure all Month and Year End tasks and associated reporting are completed by the Finance team correctly, within specified timescales (e.g. within 5 days).
* Provide up to date management information for the Monthly Financial Reviews; investigate variances and identify areas for commercial improvement.
* Support the preparation and submission of all Statutory Accounts.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including preparation of VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax returns. Ensure payments are made on time.
* Support implementation and improvement of internal financial controls and accounting systems.
* Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and legislation.
* Assist with additional projects where required, as directed by the Finance Director or the Group Chief Finance Officer.
The successful Candidate will be a Professionally Qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong experience of Financial Accounting, including VAT, UK accounting principles and regulatory frameworks.
They will possess exceptional attention to detail, and excellent analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a collaborative, team first mentality. Excellent IT skills, including strong Excel ability are a pre-requisite for this role.
If a Candidate has trained in Practice this would be seen as advantageous.
Our Client is offering a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 and they operate 5 days per week in the office, which is based at Birmingham Airport.
