Our client is a leading provider of construction safety solutions, serving a wide range of sectors including Rail & Construction, Power, Transmission, Manufacturing, and Distribution. They are currently seeking a Transport Operations Manager at their Glasgow site, working Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the UK Head of Operations, you will oversee, govern, and support the operation and wider team in managing all commercial vehicles, plant, fleet, and drivers, ensuring safety, specifications, budgets, targets, and legal requirements are met.
Key Accountabilities
* Agree vehicle and equipment specifications, including bespoke requirements.
* Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
* Divest equipment to optimise returns, considering environmental and responsible practices.
* Support and challenge Regional Operations Managers to achieve cost efficiency through budget management and expenditure monitoring.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including:
* Operator Licence compliance
* Legal and drivers hours regulations
* Mandatory vehicle inspections and statutory lifting inspections
* DVSA KPI monitoring and trend analysis
Contribute to defining vehicle and equipment standard specifications for the UK.
The Ideal Person
* CPC qualification is essential.
* Experience in a similar role and environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, routing software, and Taco systems.
* Ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Dedication to customer service and accuracy.
* Integrity and honesty in handling issues.
* Self-management skills for assessing difficult situations.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines.
