As a Design Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ skills in design, engineering, and practical problem-solving. You will encourage creativity, critical thinking, and technical understanding, helping pupils achieve their full potential in this exciting subject. Design Technology Teacher Responsibilities : Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, covering practical and theoretical components. Encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking in students. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and productive environment. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and develop cross-curricular projects. Maintain high standards of health and safety in practical workshops and classrooms. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology. Previous experience teaching DT in secondary schools is desirable. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities. A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
