Senior Sales Manager

We are currenly looking for a

Senior Sales Manager - Marine Sales Benelux and UK/I

In this position, you report to the General Manager Sales in the country where you are based. The position has a regional sales responsibility for transactional sales, focused primarily on 2S transactional sales and due to distribution of target customer groups the preferred location is in Schiedam, The Netherlands or Fareham, United Kingdom.

This role is critical to closing the gap between existing market demand and realised order intake by strengthening ownership, follow-up discipline, and consultative engagement within the 2-Stroke and transactional lifecycle business in the Merchant sector. To succeed in this role, you will closely cooperate cross-country with the 2-stroke Product Sales and 2-stroke Technical Service

Your main responsibilities are

1. Proactively engage with customers and internal/ external stakeholders to grow the 2 stroke transactional sales in line with budgets/ set targets in the Benelux and UK/I region.
2. Proven ability to drive revenue growth in 2S lifecycle / spare parts business, with a strong focus on successful conversion of field service and spare parts business demands (hit-rate improvement).
3. Demonstrated success in capturing untapped order intake through structured follow-up and customer ownership
4. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate installed base into sustainable revenue streams
5. Experience in managing high-volume transactional sales environments while prioritising high-value opportunities
6. Support and develop sales through systematic customer contact scheduling, ensuring proactive calling occurs at the most impactful moments in time.
7. Ensure leads are addressed and captured.
8. Proactively plan sales for assigned customers to maximise our share of wallet in close cooperation with the 2-stroke product line
9. Proactively share gained market insights and customer knowledge internally to develop regional customer understanding
10. Manage stakeholders by building a good network (both internallyand externally) of relationships with customers, influencers, and decision makers.
11. High level of CRM discipline (Salesforce or similar), ensuring data quality, transparency, and actionable insights
12. Ensure all customer related information & opportunities are recorded in CRM and maintain accurate customer records among assigned customer accounts.
13. Ensure a well-working feedback loop with local Parts and Field Services organization and Sales & Sales Support of2-stroke to maximize the number of leads and optimize the collaboration.
14. Generate customer intelligence and explore new business opportunities.
15. Build value propositions for sales opportunities as required to develop markets.

Main requirements in this role are (you will shine in this role when):

16. Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering/ business/ naval/ maritime studies.
17. 7+ years of professional (sales) work experience in a marine business environment, preferable with a solid technical understanding
18. Experience in promoting bundled solutions to maximise customer value and share of wallet
19. Knowledge of merchant marine segment dynamics and customer operating models
20. Demonstrate developing commercial capabilities with a good track record of consultative sales.
21. Good knowledge of the regional market sectors and its drivers.
22. Customer focused with service minded attitude along with sound commercial understanding
23. Performance and result orientated.
24. Proficient in the use of CRM and ability to create targets and sales activity plans.
25. Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English.
26. Can demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to showcase sound logic and reasoning for meeting customer’s needs.

28. Experience working in cross-border / regional setups (e.g. NL–UK coordination)
29. Can collaborate internally and align approach with supporting functions
30. Are extremely well organised and methodical.
31. Can demonstrate a goal-oriented mind-set
32. Drive results with excellent planning and clear understanding with use of CRM tools and associated measurement tools
