Tradewind working with a wonderful school who are seeking an experienced Head of Food Technology and Nutrition to lead their dynamic. As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Food Technology and Nutrition curriculum, providing outstanding teaching and learning experiences to our students.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Food Technology and Nutrition department, providing direction, support and guidance to the team of teachers and technicians.
* Develop and deliver an inspiring, relevant and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all students and prepares them for life beyond school.
* Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement, using data to inform teaching and learning strategies, and provide feedback and support where necessary.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that values and celebrates diversity, and promotes student well‑being and success.
* Build positive relationships with colleagues, students and parents, and contribute to the wider life of the school through extra‑curricular activities and events.
* Keep up‑to‑date with developments in food technology and nutrition education, sharing best practice and innovative teaching strategies with colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition or a related field.
* Qualified teacher status (QTS).
* Proven experience in teaching Food Technology and Nutrition to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with a track record of outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, students and parents.
* Experience in leading and managing a team of teachers and technicians.
* Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
