Overview of the Role
We are looking to expand our transport modelling team in the TMS division. As a Senior/Principal Transport Modeller you will work on high‑profile projects for clients such as the Department for Transport, National Highways, East West Rail Co, Heathrow Airport Ltd and local authorities, delivering modelling work that meets our best‑practice guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Work on strategic multi‑modal modelling projects
* Lead or participate in survey programmes, model development, calibration, validation, demand forecasting and economic appraisal
* Check outputs for compliance with quality requirements and industry best practice, and encourage others to do the same
* Organise, train and mentor other modelling resources to ensure project delivery and staff development
* Provide key inputs to business case development and scheme assessments
* Liaise with clients and other project stakeholders
* Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation
Candidate Specification

Key Qualifications
* Numerical degree at bachelor’s or master’s level, or an equivalent qualification
* In‑depth experience developing highway and public transport models from first principles
* Skilled in building robust models that support decision‑making
* Extensive experience with modelling software such as SATURN, VISUM, EMME, CUBE and Diadem
* Survey data analysis skills and understanding of variable demand modelling and forecasting in line with TAG guidance
Desirable Skills
* Geographic Information System (GIS) expertise – ArcMap, QGIS or MAPINFO
* Knowledge of Python, SQL and other programming languages
* Experience with microsimulation software such as VISSIM, PARAMICS and AIMSUN
* Understanding of the wider transport planning/engineering environment
