Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Streatham. The Role:
As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and adaptive lessons to students with SEMH needs, fostering a positive learning environment that promotes both academic progress and emotional development. Your ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience, empathy, and consistency will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver dynamic Science lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
* Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and engagement.
* Build strong relationships with students, promoting trust and positive behaviour.
* Collaborate with SENCO, therapists, and support staff to implement individualised strategies.
* Monitor progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (experienced unqualified teachers with SEMH experience may be considered).
* Background in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) with the ability to teach at KS3/KS4.
* Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or alternative provisions is highly desirable.
* Strong classroom management skills and a calm, resilient demeanour.
* A passion for inclusive education and helping vulnerable students succeed.
