Umbrella: £35 per hour
PAYE: £26.92 per hour + holiday pay
Morson is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our defence client based in Bolton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing manufacturing environment, supporting complex products across multiple projects. You will be a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring products are built efficiently, right first time, and to budget.
Key Responsibilities Compile, maintain and update Manufacturing Instructions
Design, commission and prove associated tooling
Support industrial validation activities, including FMEAs, FAIs and related processes
Resolve technical issues arising during the manufacturing process
Implement route card changes resulting from rework activities
Manage configuration control by embodying design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions
Support the Non-Conformance process using SAP
Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support manufacturing delivery
Skills & Experience Required Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard) AND
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 4 academic qualification (HNC, diploma, etc.) AND
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) *Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved OR
Degree in a relevant Engineering subject.
Ability to interpret design drawings and produce clear Manufacturing Build Instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators
Experience of electronic sub-assembly manufacture through to system-level builds
Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems
Strong team-working capability with the ability to contribute in a collaborative environment
Clear understanding of customer requirements and the ability to respond effectively
Ability to work to defined company processes and procedures
Strong communication skills, able to engage at all levels of the organisation
