Job Title: AV/IT CAD / BIM Technician
Working location: Wymondham
Working hours: 8am - 5pm (some out of hours working may be required)
Summary of Position:
AV/IT CAD Technician to work as part of a team in providing professional AV/IT CAD services drawings to external and internal clients.
Within this role you will be responsible for creating full dimensioned AV/IT drawings to customer specifications, producing documents to comply with industry standards.
You will be responsible for 'marking up' client supplied drawings with AV/IT service requirements.
You will be responsible for producing 'proof of concept' layout drawings to assist with the specification of AV/IT solutions.
You will assist with the production of schematic diagrams working in conjunction with the AV Architect.
Working away: Some projects will require on site support from a design role, this could be site surveying to support technical drawings.
Primary Responsibilities
* Audio Visual system design including CAD schematics and costing.
* To support the AV Architect
* Production of technical documents (Schematics, rack drawings, layout drawings and detailed technical info for IP systems) for handover to AV Architect.
* Support with Site Surveys

Qualifications & Training
Essential
· UK Driving licence
· Competency in using 2D AutoCAD software package preferred
· Competency in using 2D/3D software drawing package (BIM)
· Maths, English, and a Science related GCSE at grade A-C
Desirable
· CTS
Experience
Essential
· Ability to convert verbal and written information into two dimensional drawings.
· Experience in using computer applications such as Microsoft products, ie; Word, Excel, Outlook
· Working in 3D & 2D CAD packages.
Desirable
· Experience of computer networks and streaming technologies.
· Experience of commercial audio visual systems including large scale presentation systems (lecture theatres), video conference systems, digital signage systems.
· Audio Visual and I.T. Systems integration including signal switching, processing and distribution with control via AMX / Crestron systems.
