What you will do:
1. Create and deliver external communications that help to tell Metro Bank’s story, promoting key focus areas of the Group’s strategy.
2. Build and grow relationships with external stakeholders, driving engagement and awareness of Metro Bank in UK media and government.
3. Advise internal stakeholders, including senior leaders and spokespeople, working with a range of business functions across the bank.
4. Support corporate communications activity during financial reporting ( Financial Results, AGM and Annual Report).
5. Positively represent Metro Bank through Press Office activity, responding to media and MP enquiries.
6. Manage and mitigate reputation risks: horizon scan for emerging trends and respond to issues.
7. Lead evaluation and analysis, using data and insights to measure success.
8. Drive the external calendar, planning and managing content.
9. Oversee a Communications Associate and manage external agencies and suppliers.
10. Collaborate with Internal Communications and Brand & Marketing on campaigns, reaching multiple audiences across a range of communication channels.

What you will need:
11. A strategic mindset as an experienced communications manager.
12. You’ll be proactive and forward-looking, with a passion for delivering great results.
13. Storytelling expertise, proficient at leading PR campaigns and Press Office activity.
14. Strong interpersonal skills- a great collaborator who can build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
15. Experience managing reputation risk and crisis communications.
16. Excellent verbal and written communication.
17. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
18. Awareness of integrated communications and audience reach through traditional and digital channels.
19. Familiarity with UK media, government advocacy and policy landscape.
20. Knowledge of financial services or experience gained in a regulated industry.
21. Experience working in-house / agency communications / journalism/ public affairs.
22. Examples of previous PR / Communications campaign delivery.
