THE ROLE
Supporting the growth of the domain within a key customer, an exciting role has become available to lead the team in delivery and application of a motion control technology onto an exciting product.
A customer interfacing role, with accountability for multiple individuals and a project with the customer, the scope of the work including; leading the development, integration, validation and sign-off of select motion system projects for the customer.
AREA OF RESPONSABILITY
· Responsible for the delivery of select Chassis and Motion Control System technologies onto customers vehicle line/s.
· Lead the integration of the intended technologies onto the intended vehicle lines, including and not limited to; Project planning & co-ordination, Status reporting, System Integration including test & validation, supporting compliance and sign off activities.
· Manage select technical and project delivery teams, in providing leadership and technical expertise in both the domain and system delivery.
· Robust planning to ensure appropriate budget, project costs are considered and scheduled in line with internal and external milestones.
· Setup & promote efficient communications between customers partner organisations and TTL project team,
· Represent the team and the technology in multiple forums, ensuring status and actions are clearly communicated, escalated appropriately. All issues are to be captured and progressed using customers issue management systems appropriately and in a timely manner.
· Ensuring all deliverables meet customer milestones to the appropriate quality expectations.
· Lead selects application development and projects teams, along with managing both external and internal interfacing teams.
· Collaborate with CORE application teams where necessary to support integration of new applications of motion systems.
· Requirements analysis & decomposition, development and execution of validation process and associated simulation environments whilst using RMDV.

Defining and identifying complete test plans, including vehicle usage, spares, and test schedule
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
Essential:
· Automotive or Electrical Engineering Degree with extensive experience in Automotive Industry.
· Expert knowledge of Automotive Chassis / Motion Systems and associated features in the vertical motion domain e.g. Roll Control Systems, Adaptive Damping, Switchable Air Springs, Fully Active Suspension in either the controls or mechatronics domain, although strong candidates with relevant system experience from other industries such as aerospace will also be considered.
· Experience of delivering complex mechatronic systems from concept to production.
· Demonstratable experience of delivering complex projects to quality, cost and time.
· Knowledge of integrated suspension control and associated systems / features.
· Knowledge of vehicle dynamics particularly in the active systems domain.
· Experience of systems development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development 'V' cycle, including understanding of system principals.
· Requirements and change management tools and processes, version control, control strategy documentation.
· Experience of safety critical active control systems and associated software, including standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508 or similar.
· Expert level project management and reporting.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills.
· Ability to guide and coach team members to enhance teams capability.
· Competent in issue resolution methodology and application e.g. 8D, Fishbone.
· Recognised industry driving qualifications e.g. JLR's Class 3 / 4PG etc, along with a full UK driving license.
Desirable:
· Experience delivering complex integrated control systems.
· Experience in working with external companies delivering software components as part of a larger software product.
· Hands on vehicle testing in the active systems domain including subjective and objective test methods.
· Understanding of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault handling techniques, and related system development tools (CANalyzer, ASL, CANape, etc.)
· Previous experience in JLR and their technology/product delivery processes would be an advantage.
