Job Description

My client, based in Castle Donington are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As an integral member of the Payroll Services team, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll. This role ensures full compliance with relevant payroll legislation while delivering a consistently high standard of service, upholding confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities
1. Manage end-to-end payroll processing using cloud-based payroll software.
2. Collect, verify, and input timekeeping and payroll data.
3. Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and statutory payments.
4. Accurately apply and deduct PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and other statutory contributions.
5. Process BACS payments and ensure timely distribution of payslips and payroll reports.
6. Maintain and update payroll records, including new starters, leavers, and employee changes.
7. Prepare and submit Real Time Information (RTI) filings and other required submissions to HMRC.
8. Produce payroll journals and accounting reports for client use.
9. Respond to client enquiries regarding payroll, tax codes, and employee deductions.
10. Liaise with pension providers and manage duties related to auto-enrolment.
11. Ensure ongoing compliance with GDPR and UK payroll legislation.
12. Support year-end processes, including the production of P60s and P11Ds.
Skills and Experience
13. Previous payroll experience is required.
14. Proficiency in payroll software such as BrightPay, Xero Payroll, or Sage Payroll.
15. Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
16. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
17. Highly organised with strong time management capabilities.
18. Effective communication skills and a client-focused approach.
19. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
20. Familiarity with pension schemes and auto-enrolment procedures.
21. Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
