Additional information can be found at www.harscorail.com. JOB PURPOSE - Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Mobile Maintenance Train fleet. - Maximise machine availability. KEY RESULT AREAS - VMI and repairs completed within required timeframe. - Performance of machine following repair and maintenance tasks. - Condition of machine. - Accurate audits of machine-based tools, equipment and spare parts. - 5S on machine and van. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/COMPETENCIES Competency Qualifications & Managerial Experience - Professional Qualifications needed to enable key activities to be achieved. - Track safety qualification - PTS - DP - Mandatory qualifications - Manual handling - Emergency first aid - Abrasive wheels - Fire awareness - Health Safety - Preferred recognised qualification in mechanical / electrical / maintenance engineering or a minimum of two years' experience in an associated trade. - Functional Skills at Level 2 (Intermediate): Approach to work, communication, planning, organising prioritising, safety and security. - Technical Skills at Level 2 (Intermediate): Hydraulic, Electrical, Pneumatic, Mechanical, Calibration, Fault Finding, Machine Computers, Engines. Technical Skills - Intermediate knowledge & understanding in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems & ability to work under instruction. - IT literate including basic knowledge of Microsoft systems. - Calibration & understanding of rail plant operating systems. - Risk assessing. - Role requirements - Full valid driving licence - Basic understanding of Health & Safety, relevant to the role - Written & verbal communication skills - Competent in current maintenance standards Behaviours - Personable with Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Proactive. - Good communicator. - Self-motivated and ability to work without supervision and on own initiative. - Diplomatic. - Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively. - Adheres to deadlines. - Customer care. - Attention to detail. - Team work. - Self-improvement and positive attitude to work tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES - Report any defects found on machine & carry out repairs within required competency level for the role, as directed. - Undertake maintenance activities in accordance with the Vehicle Maintenance Instruction (VMI) - Manage VMI schedules and machine repairs using Network Rails Fleet Asset Management System (FAMS) - Periodically complete audits of machine-based tools, equipment and spare parts as request by the maintenance manager. - To carry out planned maintenance duties in line with company policies & procedures & work instructions. - Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S. - Inform manager of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control. - Operate machine for maintenance purposes. - Ensure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & procedures. - Awareness of company communication, i.e. e-mails, etc. - Be responsible for the care of company assets in the individual's possession. - To undertake training as required. - Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems. - Flexibility to travel and lodge as required by the company. - Flexibility to provide addhoc cover for the night fitter - Comply with the Company Code of Conduct. HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES - To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions at work. - Contribute to the delivery of company occupational health and welfare, safety and environmental improvement plans. - Only undertake work for which you have been trained and (if required) certified competent. - To comply with Risk Assessments, method statements and safe systems of work. - Maintain and utilise all PPE provided by the employer. - Co-operate with your employer on health, safety and environment. - Make safe any unsafe conditions where practical and challenge unsafe work practices. - Inform your line manager, supervisor or health and safety representative of any unsafe occurrences. - Report all, and assist with investigating relevant accidents, incidents and near misses. - Support Managers and Supervisors responsibilities as identified in PRO/S/G/015.
