Elevation Recruitment are pleased to be working on a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join a progressive manufacturing business with a key focus on mechanical & electrical assembly. This role would suit someone with a hands‑on leadership style, a real passion for driving performance, and an eye for continuous improvement. You’ll oversee assembly operations, develop people, streamline processes, and ensure quality and safety remain at the heart of the operation.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Manager include:
* Lead and manage assembly teams across mechanical/electrical build areas with a supportive, hands‑on approach
* Plan daily/weekly production schedules to meet output and customer demand
* Ensure smooth workflow, resource allocation, and efficient labour utilisation
* Oversee machine build, wiring, fitting, testing and final sign‑off activities as required
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality documentation
* Drive adherence to health & safety policies, risk assessments and safe working practices
* Investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence
* Identify opportunities for lean improvements, waste reduction, and productivity gains
* Coach, mentor and develop team members, fostering growth and accountability
* Build a positive team culture with strong communication and engagement
We’re looking to speak to experienced Production Managers with the below skills & experience:
* Proven leadership experience with a manufacturing environment
* Apprenticeship or qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar working experience
* Solid understanding of assembly processes, engineering drawings and build procedures
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow and prioritise effectively
* Confident decision making, problem solving and hands‑on support when required
