Are you passionate about nature and looking to make a real impact on Yorkshire's wild spaces? Join one of the UK's fastest-growing nature conservation charities as a Project Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join our West Project team and to undertake landscape and catchment-scale habitat restoration and creation across Yorkshire. As Project Officer you will primarily support delivery of natural flood management (NFM) and river restoration projects in the Aire catchment with the opportunity to support other projects within the West team.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of NFM and river restoration work on the Aire catchment.
* Manage delegated projects and budgets.
* Collaborate closely with partners to develop new initiatives and secure funding.
* Maintain strong relationships with funders and stakeholders.
* Recruit and support volunteers, coordinate surveys and deliver on-the-ground interventions in partnership with landowners and contractors.
* Ensure timely reporting and assist with record keeping of interventions and surveys, with some input into the project's GIS mapping.
* Help organise and support public engagement events and activities to raise awareness of the project's value.
Qualifications
* Up-to-date knowledge of river and wetland habitats.
* Enjoy undertaking regular, hands‑on physical work.
* Self‑motivated and well‑organised.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Confident in engaging with stakeholders, volunteers, and contractors.
