We are now seeking a Technical Service Manager to join us in Farnborough UK.
The Technical Services Manager takes overall responsibility, oversight, and direction of the Technical Services department for all Technical, Planning, & Engineering functions to include both Base and Line maintenance across multi-site activities. Per MOE, they also deputise for the Base Maintenance Manager and the Supply Chain Manager in their absence.
Your Responsibilities
* Technical & Planning function:
* Analyze the Work Packages (WP) to determine period and time objectives for scheduled maintenance, plan and organize work, and provide quotations as requested.
* Control external manufacturer documentation (including CMM) used in the company and ensure availability of all necessary maintenance data.
* Analyze manufacturer documentation to create templates including work organization, parts to be ordered, and time objectives.
* Ensure templates are integrated into the MRO software to facilitate work preparation.
* Ensure work packages are prepared and recorded correctly by technical personnel.
* Coordinate with Production Management to organize the use of contractor personnel.
* Organize weekly meetings with the Base Manager, Hangar Manager, and Workshops Supervisor to plan weekly workload.
* Plan hangar occupation and aircraft movement, including positioning aircraft within the hangar with safety considerations.
* Assign personnel to maintenance projects based on competencies and aircraft type.
* Maintain current short-term planning for scheduled maintenance inspections.
* Maintain detailed man-hour plans in coordination with the Hangar Manager.
* Monitor individual man-hours and provide feedback for adjustments.
* Coordinate daily status updates and address resource or delay issues in conjunction with the hangar manager.
* Advise management on future workload and resource requirements.
* Provide customer progress updates, accept additional defects, and review labor costs against targets.
Engineering function
* Support modification or repair processes and data approval, especially when data are not yet approved or described.
* Coordinate with Technical for quotations and with Production for implementation of modifications or deviations.
* Support data approval processes with internal customers or external Design Organisations.
* Coordinate interfaces between approved DO and Production before and during maintenance.
* Advise DO about deviations or difficulties encountered.
* Provide feedback to DO/OEM regarding ambiguities in maintenance data as reported through Safety Management reports.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
* Essential:
* Thorough understanding of Part-145 and general understanding of Part-M/CAMO regulations and their application in a Part-145 environment.
* Technical background in aircraft maintenance support or hands-on experience within an MRO.
* Experience managing in a Part-145 support role, with soft skills.
* Good business acumen, understanding Profit and Loss impacts.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Fluent English reading and writing skills.
* Desirable:
* EASA B1 or B2 Part 66 license or 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.
* Business Aviation experience.
* Full UK driving license.
* Availability to travel at short notice.
