Job Purpose / Summary
Rubix Cutting & Machining is a specialist business unit providing over 1,000 customers with nationwide product supply, specials and regrinds manufacture, product proving and engineered solutions. Within the business unit are Matrix – A Rubix Company, Peter Campbell Sales (PCS) – A Rubix Company and West Country Tools (WCT) – A Rubix Company alongside a Rubix category management team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Peter Campbell Sales Limited (PCS). Since 1982, PCS has evolved to become a unique technical cutting tool supplier to the UK engineering and manufacturing industries. Our nationwide business unit includes the team at PCS and provides our customers with cutting and machining tool alongside expert technical engineers across the UK, so we can provide those customers with the right engineered solutions for the right application.
PCS is uniquely positioned in the business and provides best in class turn around for bespoke special tooling solutions in addition to as-new regrind and re-coating services.
Key Responsibilities
* Ownership of factory planning and prioritisation of customer orders, working collaboratively with a small factory office team who are responsible for the management and flow of factory orders to meet customer timelines
* Resource planning including holidays and sickness / absence management
* Ownership of all machine operations, programming and maintenance. This will involve working with agreed budgets and being involved in the budget process to ensure costs are budgeted for and allocated correctly
* Management of personnel and other costs to budget
* Accountability for all factory KPIs, including communicating those KPIs internally across the business to ensure that both internal and external colleagues are aware of the factory capacity
* Recruitment for all factory based roles
* Ownership of the training and development culture within the factory. This will include ensuring each team member has a bespoke training and development plan which is kept up to date to ensure effective cross training is completed
* Promotion of the factory capability on relevant and appropriate platforms, including customer specific case studies
* Collaborative approach with the sales office, finance and external sales on weekly forecast calls to ensure all jobs are effectively prioritised and reported
* Ensure customers are updated proactively on job status, including answering technical queries that come into the dedicated factory inbox
* Alongside the sales office manager ensure that all factory enquiries are acknowledged, quoted and fulfilled in line with customer expectations and agreed business KPIs
* Work towards any other established KPIs and targets as set by the business and your Line Manager
About You:
* Must have a cutting & machining / technical background
* People management experience
* Appropriate technical qualifications or equivalent experience
