Job Summary:
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for residential building maintenance, repairs, and inspections of facilities equipment, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
Responsibilities:
* Provide excellent customer service to clients.
* Inspect buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment for safety and maintenance needs.
* Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs such as replacing bulbs, fixtures, sockets, switches, ballasts, and fuses.
* Handle plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains and replacing faucets.
* Perform basic carpentry tasks like drywall repair, painting, and fixing doors and windows.
* Report on work orders and procedures to management for decision-making and compliance.
* Manage inventory by requesting necessary equipment and supplies.
* Respond to emergency repairs after hours if required.
* Complete work orders promptly using provided tools and devices.
* Follow all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
* Remove snow and salt walkways during winter.
* Document safety inspections and building assessments.
* Maintain company vehicle, tools, and communication devices in safe condition.
* Participate in training and meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Trade school, military, or apprenticeship experience preferred.
* Minimum 1 year experience in maintenance or construction, including drywall, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
* Experience with power and hand tools, electrical meters.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:
* Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs/ladders, and operating tools.
